In-Line Skating Center

Expert Wanted

Do you know an in-line skating coach in your community you think would be an ideal candidate to be MomsTeam's in-line skating expert? Send his or her name to info@momsteam.com.

In-Line Skating
a roller skate whose wheels are set in-line for greater speed and maneuverability

In-line skating is a fast-paced, fun way to exercise and get fit. It is usually done on roads, sidewalks, steps, and on special tracks. However, if your child is a novice, they should practice on an indoor or outdoor rink, rather than a path or street (it will save you a lot of band aids!)

According to the most recently available statistics compiled by the CPSC, inline skating is actually safer than many other sports, as long as a child receives proper instruction and wears all the recommended safety gear. According to the International In-Line Skating Association, almost 30 million people participated in in-line skating in 2006; half of them under the age of 14.

MomsTeam's goal is to provide comprehensive information on in-line skating: advice on the equipment needed and how to buy it, a primer on the rules of the sport, and videos and advice from experts, parents, and manufacturers of in-line skating gear.

But to do that we are going to need your help. If you are a parent of a child who plays or has in-line skated, we hope you will share what you have learned with other MomsTeam parents. Please consider writing a blog, contributing an article, posting on and/or hosting a Forum, or becoming an in-line skating expert. If you know of someone who used to play or coach in-line skating who has knowledge to share, ask him or her to join. Together we can make MomsTeam a true community of sports parents!
