Concussion Safety Laws in Place In Every State

Forty-nine states have enacted a so-called Zackery Lystedt concussion safety law since May 2009.  Wyoming has enacted a weak concussion safety law, and the high school athletic association in Arkansas has rules that mirror the concussion laws of other states..

Youth Sports Concussion Safety Laws: Utah

In March 2011, Utah governor Hebert signed the state's Protection of Athletes with Head Injuries Act into law requiring amateur youth sports organizations to adopt a concussion policy, provide the policy to parents, obtain their written consent before an athlete is allowed to participate, and establishing removal and return to play rules.
