Beach Volleyball is a fun, exciting, and popular recreational activity played on countless beaches around the world. Beach Volleyball officially became an Olympic sport in 1996, years after first starting in Santa Monica, California in the 1920's.
The United States Youth Volleyball League (USYVL) is currently the leading program in America, teaching both boys and girls volleyball. Once your children feel confident enough, there are a number of national teams to try out for: youth, Under-18, and Under-21. Beach volleyball can be a single or mixed sport. Female players often become more famous than their male counterparts, and sometimes have a greater amount of prize money pools.
MomsTeam goal is to provide comprehensive information on beach volleyball: advice on the equipment needed and how to buy it, a primer on the rules of the sport, and videos and advice from experts, parents, and manufacturers of beach volleyball gear.
But to do that we are going to need your help. If you are a parent of a child who plays or has played beach volleyball, we hope you will share what you have learned with other MomsTeam parents. Please consider writing a blog, contributing an article, posting on and/or hosting a Forum, or becoming a beach volleyball expert. If you know of someone who used to play or coach beach volleyball who has knowledge to share, ask him or her to join. Together we can make MomsTeam a true community of sports parents!
